In 1981 the Rev. Billy Graham said, “The far right has no interest in religion except to manipulate it”.
And they’ve done a fine job of doing exactly that. They have succeeded in convincing the people we know and love who fill the church pews every Sunday that up is down and down is up, that evil, hatred selfishness and indifference is good and is even the will of God and that decency, compassion and doing unto others as we would have them do unto us is woke and evil and the work of the devil.
They have been convinced to disregard the teachings of Jesus Christ in the sermon on the mount and instead to get their gospel from and follow without question a fat vulgar foul mouthed lying rich man from New York City who brags about grabbing women by the kitty and is a serial adulterer/sexual predator and who incited a violent mob to ransack the capital and kill law enforcement officers in an attempt to overthrow democracy and install him as an unelected autocrat.
I pray God have mercy on the souls of our friends and family who have fallen for these gaslighters and deceivers.
