On the battlefield, battling daily with thoughts in my mind
I soon discovered I had wasted too much valuable time.
‘No weapon formed against me shall prosper’ became my daily thought;
Yet, the battle in my own mind left me feeling distraught.
I decided to pick up my sword and shield – armor worth its ideal weight;
Empowering me to be armed and dangerous to storm through any gate.
I was ready for battle with my shield and my sword,
when suddenly I heard these words:
“Wait on the LORD; Be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart;
Wait, I say on the LORD!” (Psalms 27:14)
