When I think about feelings, I often reflect on the moments that bring joy, the seasons marked by sorrow, and the precious encounters shared with those I love. But lately, I’ve found myself wondering: how does God feel? What does He experience when we walk through happiness, pain, celebration, or despair?
I sit with this question in moments of uncertainty, those times when I feel paralyzed by fear or discomfort, yet still declare, “I know He will provide.” And now, in this vulnerable moment, I pray that as you read this, you’re reminded that you are not alone.
Have you ever asked, When, God? or How much longer? Have you ever thought you were ready, only to find out there was more preparation ahead? I’ve been there too. And I’ve noticed how, when the blessings begin to pour in, sometimes my prayers grow quiet not out of ingratitude, but perhaps from distraction or weariness.
Yet God remains. Steady. Present. Tender.
He is the God who loves us in spite of and despite our shortcomings. He is not repelled by our brokenness; He is drawn to it. He listens when we come to Him sincerely, asking, “God, how can I please You? How can I serve better? Help me to extend grace to others and to myself, especially in the moments I fall short.”
Even when we turn to people first instead of Him, He still gently blesses, touches, and carries us. Over and over again. What an awesome God we serve.
My prayer for all of us is that we would desire to know Him more deeply, that we would hunger not just for His hand, but for His heart. May we pursue the depths of God, so that He can expand the capacity of our emotional and spiritual selves. I pray that our healing becomes a testimony and that we become His living, breathing expression of love on the earth.
May we feel His heart and reflect it to the world.
“The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness; He will quiet you by His love; He will exult over you with loud singing.”
Zephaniah 3:17 (ESV)
