Amidst a backdrop of cognitive demise, uncertainty, and unwavering patriotism; President Joe Biden, hesitantly past the torch of the presidency to his loyal vice president, Kamala Harris. In the days immediately following this unprecedented gesture, there was an immediate bounce in the polls, a remarkable upsurge in the vice president’s popularity. The newfound momentum for Harris culminated in her nomination as the Democratic Party’s presidential candidate for the 2024 election. Kamala Harris is Black, Asian, and a woman. She has arrived and is seen as an illustrious star, streaking across the international political front with a trajectory for the White House. Her ascendancy has been remarkable. After secondary education, she matriculated into Howard University, a historically Black university located in the nation’s capital. A native Californian, she entered the political arena in that state in the Bay area as a prosecutor for Alameda County. In 2004 she was the District Attorney of San Francisco, in 2010, elected the Attorney General of the State of California, and in 2020 elected Vice President in the Biden administration. Presidential race polling suggests that Kamala Harris could conceivably become the President of the United States. Indeed, this is unprecedented, the first woman, Black-Asian, to hold the most powerful political position in the world. The question that Americans are asking is, behind the veneer of academic and political accolades, who is Kamala Harris? What is her vision for America, and how in touch is she with the everyday American? If elected, is she diplomatically astute to skillfully maneuver the patriarchal landscape of Washington? Kamala Harris is resolutely committed to the state of Israel, does her Blackness or Africanity offer any authentic hope that she will advocate for reparations for the descendants of slavery, or will she like President Obama, be conspicuously silent on the need for African American remuneration?
Former President, Donald J. Trump is the Republican’s presidential nominee. Donald Trump has already made history for being indicted multiple times. The former president is highly, respected, and even admired for his unequivocal stance against traditional politics and politicians. He is an admirer of autocratic leaders. He was deferential to the Russian leader, Vladimir Putin, yet, both condescending and disrespectful towards Senator John McCain whom I consider an American Hero if there ever was one. Mr. Trump is often politically incorrect, which, in part, is why he is admired; the American psyche embraces the spirit of rebellion. The former president is laden with political baggage and judiciary indictments that sully his character. His loyal base is a mixture of America, a cross-section inclusive of upper, middle, and lower-class party members. His party, however, seems disengaged from the evolutionary dynamics of change, progress, invention, and creativity. The word, stagnation is the antithesis of evolution, and it best characterizes the MAGA movement and its followers. There seems to be a perception among his supporters that the America of yesteryear is better. Of course, this is not true. In essence, Mr. Trump’s vision for our nation is stale, there is nothing imaginative or progressive for our nation. There is a striking contrast between the candidates; they are from two different levels of society. It is this fundamental difference that has shaped their personal philosophy, and political aspirations. The goal of Kamala Harris is to heal our divided nation. Kamala Harris represents multiculturalism, she is a product of a mixed marriage, her husband is Jewish and her children are mixed. Donald Trump and the white conservative agenda are both intimidated and threatened by the progressive elements of Kamala Harris’s actions. Donald Trump continues to divide the nation by spewing a vitriolic monologue that many Americans, frankly cannot relate to. The Republican party has a perspective consistent with yesterday, they called it, “the party of Reagan.” The past that the Republicans long for represents a lesser evolved state of, racism, bigotry, religious conservatism, and xenophobia.
What should be kept in mind, however, is that while the words above create a dichotomy between the two candidates, and invariably, for a host of reasons, one will be thought of as better than the other.
When I scrutinize the political process objectively, I must conclude, there is no difference between the two candidates. Why would I say such a thing when I have spelled out their differences above? Permit me to explain. Politics takes place within a sphere of consciousness with its own modus operandi; quite different from ordinary logic. The political arena involves compromise, trade-offs, manipulation, deception, distortion, power, lies, and theft. It is not a spiritual area of brotherly, love, but a pit of elegant snakes and vipers. The political arena is inherently dirty. Therefore, from a political perspective, there is essentially no difference between the two candidates because the individual personalities must surrender to the processes of government. The adage, “politics is polytricks ” is adrift within the society to save humanity from the spirit of false hope. The political arena engenders false hope. The wisdom of sacred writing teaches, that, “Except the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain that build it.” The ungodly at the grassroots level of naïve buffoonery is repeatedly deceived by the spirit of false Hope; trusting in man rather than God. Oh ye of little faith how long will you be foolish and pursue vanity? The unrealistic expectations of political gain elude the spiritually dead who build their hopes on the propaganda of political campaign speeches, rather than exercise their inner faith and connect to the inner kingdom of heaven with the power to control natural law. In closing, what is best about the excitement of the presidential election, and what enthralls me is the exceptionality of America itself. We are a nation where there is a choice, a democratic process that you may choose to participate in if you perceive an immediate impact on your future, or you may choose not; there is no requirement! Both candidates have their strengths and weaknesses. I am confident in the forces of natural law that orchestrate evolution, and I believe that America’s future is bright. What is needed is collective consciousness in order to achieve even more greatness by setting aside petty political differences, and work to build a more perfect union. In this great nation, I am free to express my opinion and you are free to read it or not. If you live in America you are fortunate; it is a privilege to live in a great nation with a fair democratic process that allows Donald J, Trump, and Kamala Harris to compete for the nation’s highest office; the Presidency of the United States. May the best person win!!
