After more than two decades of publishing the Reporter Monthly Newspaper, Theresa Beverly is stepping into a new creative chapter as a novelist.
Her debut novel, FRAGMENTS: The Lost Connection, blends mystery, ancient history, hidden knowledge, and global adventure into a fast-paced story centered on discovery and truth.
The novel follows Marcus Cole, a researcher drawn into a dangerous search after receiving a mysterious package connected to his late father’s final investigation. What begins as a personal journey quickly expands into an international race tied to ancient fragments, forgotten civilizations, and secrets hidden beneath accepted history.
Ms. Beverly describes the story as more than an adventure novel.
“I wanted to write something that combined suspense, history, and the idea that there may still be truths waiting to be uncovered,” she said.
Inspired by classic adventure storytelling and a lifelong interest in history and culture, Theresa spent months developing the world and mythology behind the Fragments series. The second novel, FRAGMENTS: The Nile Cipher, is already underway and expands the story deeper into Egypt, hidden systems, and ancient encoded knowledge.
Although known locally for her work in publishing and community journalism, Theresa says fiction writing offered a different kind of creative freedom.
“Publishing a newspaper and writing a novel are very different experiences,” she explained. “A newspaper reports the world as it is. A novel allows you to explore what might have been hidden beneath it.”
The books combine elements of mystery, historical intrigue, archaeology, coded systems, and international exploration while focusing on themes of identity, legacy, and discovery.
Readers who enjoy adventure stories in the spirit of classic global mysteries may find themselves drawn into the expanding Fragments universe.
