GOOD TIDINGS
LORD, I was just thinking the other day
How there is always a need to pray.
The Scripture reminds us that man ought to always pray;
Yet, we sometimes struggle with words to say.
But as we embark on the coming of a new year,
I pray for good tidings of joy, hope, and cheer.
We faced many challenges in the year just past;
But we are thankful to You, LORD, that they didn’t last.
Our weeping during the night brought joy in the morning;
And now we can stretch our faith into the New Year that’s dawning.
I bless You, LORD, for each day of knowing
That your love for us is faithful and ever growing!

Your poem is very beautiful, Ms. Benson. You are so right that we should always pray because it is a powerful weapon on our spiritual journey through life—good and bad.
