Carrying the burdens of others can indeed be overwhelming. It often feels like we never get enough rest, and we must tread carefully around those who add extra weight to our shoulders—burdens that aren’t ours to bear.
Consider, for instance, our desire to shield our children from suffering or difficulties. We might try to help them avoid challenges, but in doing so, we prevent them from learning how to navigate life’s obstacles. Just as our children need to face their own trials to grow and develop resilience, so do we need to trust in God’s plan for us.
In times of trial or testing, it may seem as though God is absent. Yet, the truth is that He never leaves us or forsakes us. He is continually working to build our endurance and strengthen our faith. When we face seemingly insurmountable challenges, we witness God making a way where there was none. Through our failures, heartaches, and pain, hope remains steadfast.
There have been times when we could offer reassurance to someone going through a difficult period, drawing from our own experiences. Because of what we have endured, we can share our lessons and encourage others.
However, it’s important to remember that if a struggle is not ours to fight, taking on that burden can lead to confusion and hinder our ability to offer true encouragement. We must discern when to step back and trust God’s guidance, allowing clarity and peace to prevail in our own lives as we support others.
As the Bible teaches us, “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you” (1 Peter 5:7). By entrusting our worries and the burdens of others to the Lord, we align ourselves with His will and find the strength to support those in need without being overwhelmed ourselves.
