Love Check

Tarsha Gunn

When was the last time you were patient with yourself and gave yourself the grace you give to others? After the very thing you prayed for has been delayed or is just plain no, how much patience do we have to wait on God?

The kindness shown to others, have we been that kind to ourselves? We can often be our own worst critic. If everyone seems to be doing better and doesn’t even seem to be living or doing right, can we leave that with God and not become envious?

When the blessings begin to flow, does He get the glory? Are we able to pray for those who have wronged and spitefully used us?

As your blessings begin to flow, can and will we remain humble, not boast, and not become proud? Can we hold on to the pieces of ourselves and not give away what we need to remain whole? But care for others when needed. Do we know how to take a Holy Ghost pause and not go off so that we don’t become easily angered? Remembering forgiveness is required. With all that has been done, are we able not to keep a record of wrongs that are done to us? Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth, which means we will allow the Lord to fight our battles.

Love is a powerful weapon. We must love and honor ourselves, have healthy boundaries, and trust that the love of God always protects, will always produce trust, and will always give us hope, which will always cause us to persevere. Love never fails.
