Eva Adkins Timmons, candidate for BOE District 1, is daughter of the late Thomas & Sadie Adkins, and the wife of the late Curtis L. Timmons. She, her children Taneshia and Curtis Jr. are graduates of the Gadsden City School System and granddaughter Sha’Maine currently attends Donehoo Elementary.
Eva earned a B.S. degree in Elementary Education from Miles College and completed her M.A. degree in Early Childhood Education at the University of Alabama in Birmingham.
Mrs. Timmons retired with 36 years of teaching experience within the Etowah County School System. Education has been and continues to be her #1 priority for children of this City.
As a representative of District # 1 Eva plans to engage parents, community, and teachers on an ongoing transformation of personalized learning experience.
Mrs. Timmons stands behind a positive forward movement by focusing on:
- Parental Engagement: increase positive communication through digital networking, open door policy (welcoming) to every school
- Community Partnership: collaboration with business, churches, and other schools
- Teachers Leadership: more workshops from book consultants, peer to peer outreach program, increase technology, back to the basics for a firm foundation.
These Measures will not only improve District 1 but every district with all board members working together!
