Written in Matthew 5:48, NIV, to be exact:
“Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.”
I’m perfectly not perfect, how can I be
with envy, jealousy, and hatred encamped about me?
My words have power – I can shape the future;
And decreeing a thing is as effective as a suture.
I do the best I can to love as the Scripture says;
But efforts are counted as a loss at the end of the day.
I’m perfectly not perfect, but I’m striving to be,
Are you willing to take the “perfect” journey with me?
