Roughly 30 years ago I predicted to anyone who would listen that the Republican party, with the enthusiastic support of the church folks would eventually attempt to overthrow democracy, which they revile in order to impose their will. Done.
Then when Donald was first elected in 2016 I predicted that when his term ended or he was defeated in the next election he would refuse to accept the outcome and attempt to remain in office, again with the enthusiastic support of “Christian” conservatives. Done.
Now, upon being re-elected, on his second day he snarled and bristled when an Episcopal Bishop in a very mild and gracious tone quoted the words of Jesus to him . He then resorted to his characteristic Twitter rant attacking and insulting the Bishop and in short order the Bishop found herself on the receiving end of vicious death threats.
So, here is my next prediction.
Sometime likely in the next two to three years someone else will dare to confront Donald with the words of Jesus and he will erupt in fury and openly and angrily blaspheme and once again his legion of “Christian” followers will rush to Donald’s defense and stand with him.
And at this point I have no reason to doubt that once again that will include many of my own relatives.
