Urgently I went to pray
But God did not answer right away.
I patiently waited another day or two;
but still no answer came through.
As I pondered the prayer seeking for flaws;
I found that it contained selfish cause.
1 Timothy 2:1 (NLT) reminded me of this Godly chore:
“I urge you, first of all to pray for all people. Ask God to help them,
intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them.”
A prayer of repentance I quickly prayed;
Asking forgiveness for the error of my ways.
Why was I thinking only of self
When all around me is sickness and death?
The prayer of repentance opened the door
and selfish prayers I will pray no more.
