An Open Letter To The Reborn Of The Household Of Faith

Submitted By Sister Irene Jones Ash

In the name of Jesus I greet you. This is a letter from the Red Circle Book of 1993-1994. It is my prayer that it will be a blessing to our Christian people.

It bothers me deeply that we are losing too many of our children to non-Christian isms at such an alarming rate. Are we as Christians too “at ease in Zion”, enjoying the luxuries that life has afforded us; coveting, lusting, and greedily grasping for materialisms to enhance our own ego and comfort while our children are being spiritually neglected? Proverbs 22:6 tells us to “train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it”. The Bible is truth. The Bible is the Word of God, so as we look at conditions of our world today, it appears that we, to whom Jesus left the keys to the kingdom; we, to whom the Power of the Holy Ghost is supposed to be upon; we, who are supposed to be witnesses for Jerusalem have been exemplifying a form of godliness; but denying the power thereof. We cannot be strong, powerful, effective witnesses and win the world to Jesus when we are laying our couches watching television or engaging in small talk on our telephones.

It is past time for a great spiritual awakening among the Reborn Household of Faith. For every moment we selfishly squander, another precious soul of youth is being snatched by a prevalent and pernicious vice.

Let us not be asleep to our sense of duty. The kingdom of Heaven is at hand. There are souls to be saved. We have got to lay that sure foundation for our youth. Without a foundation, there is nothing on which to build. Without that sure foundation (Jesus) even the tallest skyscraper (of life) will crumble.

The responsibility is ours, Reborn’s! Our people are perishing for a lack of knowledge!

Let us lay aside all idleness and slothfulness; teach, rightfully train, and edify our race, our youth. We understand how way leads to way. We are not in Christendom for prestige nor filthy lucre, nor for fame and fortune. We can be a mentor, but never an idol. It matters not for our name to be acclaimed; but how many souls have we led to Christ!

The day of accountability for our responsibility will surely come. Let us not have misplaced values and priorities, nor incorrect motives; lest we hear the Master say, “Depart from me I never knew you”
