Suffer Little Children and Forbid Them Not to Come Unto Me…

Suffer little children and forbid them not to come unto me, for such is the kingdom of Heaven- Matt. 19:14. “If my people who are called by name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from Heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” II Chronicles 7:14
Yes, our land needs healing. We are all in a hurry. It is all about self and money. I heard one of our ministers deliver a message at Wills Creek and these are the words he said, “There is a moral breakdown in America.” It is dark and the lamp of cleaning lives is gone out; darkness everywhere. We are suffering a moral breakdown in our homes, in our communities, and in our churches. I heard Rev. Walker say a while ago, “We are trying to run the church without Jesus!” We talk about how they took prayer out of the schools, but count the many things we have taken out of the church: Vacation Bible School, Baptist Training Union, Mothers Day, Fathers Day, Easter programs, and Christmas programs for our children. We have even taken conferences out of the church. When we do not take time with our children, we are leaving Jesus out. Jesus said, “Suffer little children and forbid them not, for such is the kingdom of Heaven”-Matt. 19:14 I do not believe God is pleased with His churches. When you listen to the news, everything is happening around us. Earthquakes, tornados, and floods are just some of the things. God is warning us. I pray that we wake up before it is too late.
Some of us think that just because we pay our tithes we are going to heaven. However, we have to do all God told us to do to get to heaven. There is no way for us to get to heaven when we are too busy for our children. God is watching us. We have to give in a count of what we should do. I have been criticized for always talking about our children, but I cannot help it. It is as if fire shut up in my bones. These children are our tomorrow and future. I am so thankful that I had a mother and father that taught me what was right. I was strongly taught to stand up for what is right, even if it means standing alone. The Bible reads, “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:16
The responsibility is ours. If we lay the foundation, our children can build on it and when the storms blow in their lives, they will be able to stand. They need to be able to stand on a solid foundation, not sinking sand. Read Ezekiel 33:7-8 and Matt 21:12.
Dear God,
Thank you for this day. Wake us up and show us what you want us to do. Oh God, our youths need a blessing. When we think of our youth, we think of new hope and new possibilities. It gives us something to think about, our responsibility. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen
