A LITANY OF THE HOLY NAME & FACE OF ADONAI YESHUA

Names lose their meaning, from one language to another. When proper nouns are converted from one language to another, they are not translated based on their meaning. Rather, they are adapted to the orthography and naming conventions of the object language, so that the reader can better pronounce the names. In other words, the name is not translated. It is just adjusted to sound more like the whole language. Thus, the meaning of the name only exists in the original language when the name is modified to fit another, then meaning might be lost; that is, in the new language the name may not have any real meaning. The preceding quote is from, Rabbi Reuven Klein’s Bestseller, Lashon Hakodesh, History, Holiness, & Hebrew.

This is in part, my rationale for introducing and using the original Hebrew names. It has become convention within the past five hundred years to use the Anglicize name, “Jesus “. This article introduces the reader to Hebraic concepts and words.  The word, Adonai means, my lord, and Yeshua is the Hebrew name of Jesus. There is but one name, in accordance with the Gospel (Acts 4:12), whereby a soul is redeemed, and brought into the sanctifying grace of יהוה Yahweh and that name is Yeshua. On the night of his birth, a host of angels along with his mother and Father admired his holy face; it was resplendent with divinity and the solemnity of grace. As an infant, his countenance mesmerized the prophet Simeon in the temple when he was presented to the LORD. Simeon cried out, “Lord my God. You have kept your promise now I can die, for I have seen, Yeshua your son who will save many people.”

During his sorrowful ordeal that led to his crucifixion and death, his holy countenance was marred. His face was excoriated, and bruised as he was severely beaten, slapped in the face, struck with a reed, his beard plucked, his backside, chest, and face scourged and covered with spit and crowned with thorns that pierced his head and the blood ran down his face, Veronica so boldly stepped forward from the crowd and wiped his sweaty, blood-spattered face. Weak and exhausted from carrying his cross he fell repeatedly.  A dark-skinned man, Simon of Cyrene helped carry his cross. The fact that a black man helped carry his cross had prophetic implications for the Black race; it portends our sharing in his suffering, death, and triumphant resurrection. On the day of the resurrection, the savior showed himself to several people including several women, his apostles, and his mother. He came forth from the grave with an incorruptible eternal life brilliant and aglow with ineffable glory. In his resurrected state what was most awesome and attractive was the ineffable beauty and magnanimous glory of his holy face; as captured on the shroud of Turin. The most holy name of Yeshua expresses the glorious victory that he has obtained over hell, and it embraces in it, the infinite merits of his adorable character. The most holy name of Yeshua expresses the salvific deliverance, welfare, and divinity of the creator, and embraces all his perfections.
