April Is Sexual Assault Awareness Month And Awareness of Trump

April is the month that we discuss a very sensitive subject and that’s sexual assault, rape, and incest. We can not dismiss the fact that the Republican Party is backing and supporting a candidate who has been accused of rape, sexual assault, and sexual harassment, including non-consensual kissing or groping, by at least 25 women since the 1970s. In 1990, Trump’s former wife, Ivana accused him of rape during her claim for divorce. In 2019, E. Jean Carroll alleged that Trump raped her in a department store dressing room in 1996. Trump denied knowing Ms. Carroll, however, a New York magazine published a picture of them together in 1987. A civil jury found Trump guilty and liable for sexual abuse and defamation against Carroll. She was awarded $5 million. In September 2023, Trump was found liable for defaming Carroll and he was ordered to pay her an additional $83.3 million.

In a 2005, interview with Access Hollywood, Trump is heard making extremely lewd conversation about women. He is heard bragging about groping women. “You know I’m automatically attracted to beautiful—I just start kissing them. It’s like a magnet. Just kiss. I don’t even wait. And when you’re a star, they let you do it, you can do anything … grab them by the p****. You can do anything.” Many legal experts have confirmed these statements are described as sexual assault.

Trump once owned the Miss Universe franchise which includes Miss USA and Miss Teen USA, from 1996 to 2015. In an interview with Howard Stern, in 2005, Trump said that he made a practice of walking into the dressing rooms unannounced while the young women were undressed.

No Matter how you feel about Donald Trump, keep in mind that each of these young women is someone’s daughter. I doubt any supporter of Trump would be defending his disgusting behavior if one of these women were their daughter, wife, or sister.

What does this say about the Republican Party who have consistently made excuses for Trump and in spite of the many other violations he has been found guilty of, they are still putting him on the ballot? The voters who are in denial of his many violations are totally unaffected by the proven facts that are now against him.

For the first time in our nation’s history, we have a man on our ballot who is unfit to hold office. This same man has degraded our military calling our Veterans “suckers and losers”. How can this man be fit to hold the commander-in-chief job after showing this low disrespect to our military?

During his first term as president, he was impeached twice. Being found liable for abuse of power and obstruction is a serious thing to consider when you are electing the most important person in the world. We must look at it like this. Trump is asking the American people for a job. This is a job that he had and broke a lot of rules. If someone works for you and they steal from you, lie to you, and degrades and abuses others, do you really want to rehire this man to do it again?

There is no way on this earth that anyone will ever convince me that if Trump were a Democrat, the Republican Party would be raking him over the coals and making no excuses for the fact that this man is unfit, unqualified and downright wrong for this job. So, say you?
