Today, I pause to give thanks to Almighty God –
Giving thanks to Him for changing my heart.
I thank Him for the many blessings received throughout the years.
I thank Him for the many times He wiped away my tears.
I thank Him for Jesus and the blood shed for me –
blood that loosed me from my shackles to make me sin-free.
I thank Him for His Holy Spirit – the Comforter for sure;
Who helps me through heartaches I, alone, could not endure.
I thank Him for showing me the brevity of life –
Giving the blessed assurance that joy comes in the morning after a day of strife.
I am reminded by the Scripture from Psalms 90:10, written to say:
“Seventy years are given to us! Some even live to eighty. But even the best
years are filled with pain and troubles; soon they disappear, and we fly away.”
As I pondered the Scripture, I knew right away –
I had to thank God for His grace and mercy given this day!
God, Thanks for Giving!
